Hussein Mukasa Kafeero et al.

Summary: This study investigated the treatment eligibility of chronically infected HBV patients in low and high endemic regions using the TREAT-B algorithm. The results showed that 56.8% of the participants qualified for treatment. Participants from the low endemic region had significantly higher treatment eligibility than those from the high endemic region. Alcohol use and household contact with an HBV-infected person were significantly associated with treatment eligibility. AST, GGT, and total bilirubin were the liver-related parameters significantly associated with treatment eligibility.
