Effect of D-Glucuronic Acid and N-acetyl-D-Glucosamine Treatment during In Vitro Maturation on Embryonic Development after Parthenogenesis and Somatic Cell Nuclear Transfer in Pigs

Joohyeong Lee et al.

Summary: The study showed that treatment with glucuronic acid and N-acetyl-D-glucosamine during porcine oocyte in vitro maturation can enhance oocyte diameter, perivitelline space thickness, reduce reactive oxygen species levels, improve gene expression, and enhance cortical granule reaction. This treatment also led to higher blastocyst rates in both chemically defined and complex media, indicating beneficial effects on early embryonic development after parthenogenesis and somatic cell nuclear transfer.
