Antifeeding and Oviposition Deterrent Effect of Ludwigia spp. (Onagraceae) against Plutella xylostella (Lepidoptera: Plutellidae)

Summary: This study evaluated the effects of aqueous and ethanolic extracts of Ludwigia spp. on the feeding and oviposition of Plutella xylostella. The results showed that the aqueous extract reduced larval feeding and oviposition, while the ethanolic extract stimulated feeding but reduced oviposition. Extracts from L. longifolia and L. tomentosa had the best results in interfering with the feeding and oviposition of P. xylostella.
