Effect of Production System (Organic versus Conventional) on Olive Fruit and Oil Yields and Oil Quality Parameters in the Messara Valley, Crete, Greece; Results from a 3-Year Farm Survey

Nikolaos Volakakis et al.

Summary: The study compares the differences in fruit and oil yields and quality parameters between organic and conventional farms. The results show that although farms in Messara Plain have higher yields, there is not a significant difference in yields between organic and conventional production, and organic production may have slightly higher yields. Additionally, there is no substantial difference in olive oil quality between the two production systems.

Effect of Clover Sward Management on Nitrogen Fixation and Performance of Following Spring- and Winter Wheat Crops; Results of a 3-Year Pilot Study

Andrew Wilkinson et al.

Summary: Organic wheat production has lower yields compared to conventional farming, and organic farmers in Northern Europe struggle to meet the quality demands of processors and bakers. A 3-year pilot study found that changes in clover management and the selection of suitable wheat varieties can increase grain yield and improve processing quality.

Competency of Rhizobial Inoculation in Sustainable Agricultural Production and Biocontrol of Plant Diseases

Erana Kebede

Summary: The rate of global population growth poses a risk to food security, necessitating an increase in food production. Rhizobial inoculants offer an effective, safe, and economically viable means of enhancing agricultural production by improving plant growth, nutrient uptake, and biocontrol of plant diseases. Future research should focus on eradicating constraints in farmers' implementation of this practice and improving the quality of inoculants.

Effect of rhizobial inoculants on yield and yield components of faba bean (Vicia fabae L.) on vertisol of Wereillu District, South Wollo, Ethiopia

Samuel Adissie Gedamu et al.

Summary: The study focused on examining the effects of rhizobium strains on nodulation, growth, and yield of faba bean. Results showed that the EAL-1018 strain significantly outperformed other strains in terms of nodule development, biomass yield, and grain yield. Therefore, EAL-1018 is recommended for similar agro-ecologies for maximum yield and economic benefit.
