Comparison of production-related responses to hyperinsulinemia and hypoglycemia induced by clamp procedures or heat stress of lactating dairy cattle

J. W. Stewart et al.

Summary: This study aimed to investigate the effects of hyperinsulinemia concurrent with hypoglycemia on the physiological changes in lactating dairy cows under heat stress. The results showed that heat stress and hyperinsulinemia with hypoglycemia both had an impact on feed intake and milk production in cows. Furthermore, baseline blood glucose concentrations were highly correlated with the change in glucose levels during heat stress, and cows that did not develop hypoglycemia during heat stress tended to have a greater reduction in milk yield. This study fills a knowledge gap in understanding the physiological response to heat stress and changes in glycemic state.

An Integrative Single-cell Transcriptomic Atlas of the Post-natal Mouse Mammary Gland Allows Discovery of New Developmental Trajectories in the Luminal Compartment

Martin E. Garcia Sola et al.

Summary: The mammary gland is a highly dynamic organ that undergoes different cell populations at different developmental stages. By integrating a large volume of single cell RNA sequencing data, a better understanding of the cellular and transcriptional diversity within the mammary gland has been achieved. The study highlights the high level of plasticity in gene expression regulation during mammary gland post-natal development.
