A mutation in chitin synthase I associated with etoxazole resistance in the citrus red mite Panonychus citri (Acari: Tetranychidae) and its uneven geographical distribution in Japan

Misono Tadatsu et al.

Summary: High-level etoxazole resistance in Panonychus citri is mainly found in the Ariake Sea area of Japan, possibly due to completely recessive inheritance of resistance and low gene flow between local populations.

Transcriptomic analysis reveals the regulation network of BmKruppel homolog 1 in the oocyte development of Bombyx mori

Zi-Dan Zhu et al.

Summary: The study found that Kr-h1 gene is associated with ovarian development and reproduction in Bombyx mori, and its depletion leads to abnormal oocyte development, indicating that Kr-h1 may directly regulate oocyte development through metabolic-related pathways and yolk protein absorption processes.

Transcriptome profiling and functional analysis suggest that the constitutive overexpression of four cytochrome P450s confers resistance to abamectin in Tetranychus urticae from China

Dandan Xu et al.

Summary: The two field populations of T. urticae in China, NB-ZJ and SY-BJ, exhibited high resistance to abamectin, potentially due to the overexpression of P450 genes.

Resistance status and detoxification enzyme activity in ten populations of Panonychus citri (Acari: Tetranychidae) from Turkey

Ismail Doker et al.

Summary: Monitoring of acaricide resistance in phytophagous mites is crucial for effective pest management. A study conducted in citrus orchards in Cukurova region of Turkey found that certain populations of citrus red mites have developed resistance to commonly used acaricides. It is suggested that rotating acaricides with different modes of action is fundamental to prevent potential resistance problems.

Resistance to spirodiclofen in Brevipalpus yothersi (Acari: Tenuipalpidae) from Brazilian citrus groves: detection, monitoring, and population performance

Claudiane M. Rocha et al.

Summary: Variability in susceptibility to spirodiclofen was high between Brevipalpus yothersi populations, with the frequency of resistant eggs ranging from 0.7% to 85.8% between populations. The resistance ratio of B. yothersi to spirodiclofen was low to moderate. Life table parameters indicated lower fitness in the resistant strain, with reduced survival rates and fecundity.

Whole genome sequencing and bulked segregant analysis suggest a new mechanism of amitraz resistance in the citrus red mite, Panonychus citri (Acari: Tetranychidae)

Shi-Jiang Yu et al.

Summary: Through whole genome sequencing and bulked segregant analysis, this study identified a T752C gene mutation associated with amitraz resistance in Panonychus citri, located in the 5' untranslated region of the beta-2R adrenergic-like octopamine receptor gene. This mutation resulted in down-regulated gene expression and resistance in the pest.

Fenpyroximate resistance in Iranian populations of the European red mite Panonychus ulmi (Acari: Tetranychidae)

Razieh Yaghoobi et al.

Summary: This study found moderate to high levels of fenpyroximate resistance in P. ulmi populations from Iran, with LC50 values ranging from 121.8 to 5713.9 mg a.i. L-1. The PSR-TK, Shahin Dej, and Semirom3 populations showed the highest synergist ratios for PBO, TPP, and DEM.
