Broadband 3D-Printed Polarizer Based on Metallic Transverse Electro-Magnetic Unit-Cells

Summary: This article presents a 3D polarizing screen that converts linear to circular polarization in a broadband frequency range. It uses fully metallic unit cells manufactured through metal 3D printing, without the need for dielectric materials. This is the first successful proof of concept for additive manufacturing in metallic periodic surfaces. A Compact Beam-Steerable Integrated Reflectarray Antenna for LEO Applications

Summary: A beam-steerable metamaterial reflectarray antenna was proposed for low earth orbiting communication satellite applications in this paper. With a feed holder stand replaced by a flexible PF-4 foam, the antenna achieved continuous beam switching with 30-degree freedom. The 7x7 metamaterial antenna array demonstrated a stable maximum gain higher than 12 dB over a wide bandwidth from 23.5 GHz to 30.5 GHz.

The article includes a set of representative numerical examples to showcase the features and potential of the proposed implementation.
