Predictive factors, preventive implications, and personalized surgical strategies for bone metastasis from lung cancer: population-based approach with a comprehensive cancer center-based study

Summary: This study analyzed the epidemiological trends and risk factors for bone metastasis (BM) in lung cancer (LC) patients, and developed a personalized risk assessment model for BM. The results showed that liver metastasis is a strong predictor of LC-BM, and proactive measures should be taken to prevent BM and its skeletal-related events (SREs) in young patients, males, high invasive LC, and LC with liver metastasis.

Summary: This study aimed to develop a predictive nomogram for early death of metastatic renal cell carcinoma (mRCC). Using data from the SEER database, 6,005 mRCC patients were analyzed, and 11 significant independent risk factors were identified to construct a practical nomogram for distinguishing early death. The nomogram demonstrated excellent performance, discrimination, and clinical practicality, providing valuable assistance to clinicians in individualized medicine.

These trends are expected to rise in 2040, with transitioning countries experiencing a larger increase compared to transitioned countries due to demographic changes and risk factors associated with globalization and a growing economy. Efforts to improve cancer prevention measures and provision of cancer care in transitioning countries will be crucial for global cancer control.

Prediction of overall survival of non-small cell lung cancer with bone metastasis: an analysis of the Surveillance, Epidemiology and End Results (SEER) database

Summary: This study aimed to investigate the prognosis of NSCLC patients with bone metastasis and establish a predictive model for overall survival. The results showed that sex, race, AJCC stage, T stage, liver metastasis, and chemotherapy were predictive factors for overall survival. The nomogram based on these factors performed well in predicting 1-, 3-, and 5-year survival rates.
