Summary: This study found that the expression of GSDME is significantly reduced in retinoblastoma and its downregulation decreases the sensitivity of cells to chemotherapeutic drugs. The upregulation of GSDME can reduce the required dose of chemotherapeutic drugs and change the mode of cell death, increasing the concentration of drugs. Furthermore, in vivo experiments confirm that upregulation of GSDME can promote tumor cell death.
