SOCE-inhibitor reduced human sperm-induced formation of neutrophil extracellular traps

Fabiola Zambrano et al.

Summary: Human sperm has been shown to activate NETs in vitro, affecting sperm structure and oocyte binding capabilities. The use of a specific SOCE inhibitor can reduce the formation of NETs, improving sperm function and oocyte binding capabilities.

Summary: This study investigated vulvovaginal candidiasis (VVC) through clinical and laboratory analysis, identifying new risk factors related to intestinal and vaginal dysbiosis. Clinical symptoms were found to have low positive predictive value for diagnosing candidiasis.

Canine Angiostrongylus vasorum-Induced Early Innate Immune Reactions Based on NETs Formation and Canine Vascular Endothelial Cell Activation In Vitro

Daniela Grob et al.

Summary: Angiostrongylus vasorum is a nematode parasite that affects the cardiopulmonary system of canids, residing in the pulmonary artery and right atrium/ventricle, interacting closely with components of the innate immune system. Co-culture experiments with freshly isolated canine polymorphonuclear neutrophils (PMN) and A. vasorum L3 larvae induced the release of NETs without affecting larval viability. The expression of adhesion molecules in canine aortic endothelial cells (CAEC) showed inter-donor variations, and the parasite triggered different NETs phenotypes, suggesting a potential role in disease outcome.
