The molecular mechanism research of cartilage calcification induced by osteoarthritis

Shilin Jiang et al.

Summary: This study investigated the molecular mechanism of cartilage calcification induced by osteoarthritis (OA) through the DLX5-ALPL-IBSP-ENPP1 signal axis. The results showed that the expression of DLX5, ALPL, IBSP, and ENPP1 was associated with the degree of cartilage calcification.

DLX Genes: Roles in Development and Cancer

Yinfei Tan et al.

Summary: DLX homeobox family genes play critical roles in embryonic and postnatal development, particularly in regulating the formation of craniofacial structures, branchial arches, forebrain, and sensory organs. Dysregulation of DLX genes can lead to congenital disorders and hematological malignancies. In addition, DLX genes are implicated in oncogenesis, with Dlx5 shown to act as an oncogene in murine T-cell lymphoma models by cooperating with Akt, Notch, and Wnt signaling pathways.
