FAM3C: an emerging biomarker and potential therapeutic target for cancer

Yuanyuan Zhu et al.

Summary: FAM3C, a member of the FAM3 family, has been reported to be overexpressed in various types of cancer and associated with tumor formation, invasion, metastasis, and poor survival. It is also known to regulate proteins like Ras, STAT3, TGF-beta, and LIFR, which are linked to cancer. This suggests that FAM3C could be a novel biomarker and potential therapeutic target for cancer treatment.

B2M overexpression correlates with malignancy and immune signatures in human gliomas

Hao Zhang et al.

Summary: The study explores the potential of B2M as a candidate for immunotherapy or diagnostic biomarker in gliomas through genomic, clinical, and immune signature analyses. High B2M expression is associated with worse prognosis and interacts with immune processes and cell types, suppressing anti-tumor immunity.

Tumor-infiltrating B cells and T cells correlate with postoperative prognosis in triple-negative carcinoma of the breast

Hajime Kuroda et al.

Summary: CD20+ TILs may support an increase in CD4+ and CD8+ TILs, which altered the anti-tumor response, resulting in a positive prognosis. CD20+ TILs correlated with FOXP3+ Treg lymphocytes, which were reported to be correlated with a poor prognosis. Our study suggested that TIL-B cells have dual and conflicting roles in TIL-T immune reactions in TNBC.

Expression of Endogenous Retroviral RNA in Prostate Tumors has Prognostic Value and Shows Differences among Americans of African Versus European/Middle Eastern Ancestry

Vinay Kumar et al.

Summary: The study found that differences in ERV expression in prostate tumors of patients with different ancestries may be associated with mechanisms of cancer progression. Additionally, the correlation between ERV expression in prostate tumors and the risk of biochemical relapse suggests a potential role for ERVs in cancer progression.

B7-H3/CD276: An Emerging Cancer Immunotherapy

Wu-Tong Zhou et al.

Summary: B7-H3 protein, overexpressed in tumor tissues and showing limited expression in normal tissues, is a promising target for cancer immunotherapy due to its involvement in tumor microenvironment shaping and development. Numerous B7-H3-based immunotherapy strategies have demonstrated potent antitumor activity and acceptable safety profiles in preclinical models.

Follicular Helper T Cells Remodel the Immune Microenvironment of Pancreatic Cancer via Secreting CXCL13 and IL-21

Xuan Lin et al.

Summary: The immunosuppressive microenvironment in PDAC is closely related to poor prognosis. Tfh cells promote an immunoactive tumor microenvironment by secreting CXCL13 and IL-21, correlating with better patient prognosis. However, the anti-tumor function of Tfh cells is inhibited by the PD-L1/PD-1 signaling pathway, which can be reversed by neoadjuvant chemotherapy.

Summary: NNMT is an enzyme that is overexpressed in major urologic neoplasms, showing correlation with pathological progression, prognostic parameters, and patient survival. It is also detectable in peripheral body fluids, indicating potential as a promising biomarker for early detection of these cancers.
