Ivan Borbath et al.

Summary: This study analyzed data from the European Neuroendocrine Tumour Society registry, including 10,102 NEN patients from 7 European countries. It described prognostic factors for NEN survival in Europe, including primary tumor site, grade, stage, and treatment.

Summary: Liver embolisation is a treatment option for patients with neuro-endocrine neoplasms, providing symptom relief and partial response in a significant number of patients. However, further prospective studies are required to confirm the most suitable form of liver embolisation in NENs.

Summary: A retrospective cohort study of 3,188 patients with liver metastatic GEP-NENs revealed that intestinal NENs had the best prognosis, pancreatic NENs showed the greatest benefit from surgical intervention, and overall, surgery was positively associated with outcomes across all groups.

Postrecurrence Survival After Liver Transplantation for Liver Metastases From Neuroendocrine Tumors

Carlo Sposito et al.

Summary: Liver transplantation is an accepted treatment for liver metastases from neuroendocrine tumors, but post-transplant recurrence can occur in 30%-50% of cases. A retrospective study found that long-term survival after post-LT NET recurrence is excellent, especially in patients who experienced recurrence more than 24 months after LT. Aggressive surgical treatment may offer a chance of cure for selected patients with NET recurrence.

Efficacy of 177Lu-Dotatate Induction and Maintenance Therapy of Various Types of Neuroendocrine Tumors: A Phase II Registry Study

Golmehr Sistani et al.

Summary: Peptide receptor radionuclide therapy (PRRT) is an established treatment option for progressive neuroendocrine tumors (NETs). This phase 2 trial aimed to expand the use of PRRT to different types of NETs and evaluate the value of maintenance therapy. Results showed that adding low dose maintenance therapy significantly improved median progression-free survival compared to the NETTER-1 trial.
