The Hippo pathway effectors YAP and TAZ interact with EGF-like signaling to regulate expansion-related events in bovine cumulus cells in vitro

Julia Koch et al.

Summary: This study found that the inhibition of the interaction between the Hippo effector YAP or its transcriptional co-activator TAZ with the TEAD family of transcription factors is critical for the cumulus expansion-related events induced by the EGF network in cumulus-oocyte complexes (COCs). These findings provide important insights into the functional relevance of cumulus expansion and oocyte maturation in monovulatory species, and may serve as potential targets to improve the efficiency of in vitro maturation (IVM) systems.

Increased Expression of YAP Inhibited the Autophagy Level by Upregulating mTOR Signal in the Eutopic ESCs of Endometriosis

Tianjiao Pei et al.

Summary: The Hippo-YAP signaling pathway and autophagy play important roles in the pathogenesis of endometriosis. This study found that increased YAP inhibits autophagy by upregulating the mTOR signal in eutopic endometrial stromal cells, and the YAP-autophagy signal is involved in the pathogenesis of endometriosis-associated infertility.

MTOR-mediated interaction between the oocyte and granulosa cells regulates the development and function of both compartments in mice†

You-Qiang Su et al.

Summary: The coordinated development of germline and somatic compartments in a follicle is crucial for the formation of a functional oocyte. The bi-directional communication between the oocyte and granulosa cells plays a vital role in supporting the development and function of both compartments. MTOR, a serine/threonine kinase, is emerging as a major regulator of oocyte and follicle development, controlling various aspects of their development and function.

Hippo Signaling in the Ovary: Emerging Roles in Development, Fertility, and Disease

Summary: Emerging studies show that the Hippo pathway plays an important role in ovarian physiology and pathology, controlling organ size through regulating key biological processes. It interacts with other signaling pathways and responds to external stimuli. Dysregulation of the Hippo pathway is associated with ovarian disorders.

Controlled ovarian hyperstimulation for poor ovarian responders undergoing in vitro fertilisation/intracytoplasmic sperm injection: a protocol for systematic review and Bayesian network meta-analysis

Huisheng Yang et al.

Summary: Controlled ovarian hyperstimulation (COH) is a routine regimen used in IVF/ICSI treatment, and poor ovarian responders (PORs) often have higher follicle stimulating hormone levels and fewer retrieved oocytes. Researchers have proposed strategies and protocols to improve pregnancy outcomes for PORs, but clinical decisions regarding COH protocols for PORs remain controversial.

Summary: In vitro fertilization (IVF) is a common assisted reproduction technology that involves controlled ovarian stimulation to promote follicular maturation. Researchers have started investigating the impact of different gonadotropins on granulosa cell development as potential markers for oocyte quality and successful fertilization.

Summary: The 21st ESHRE report on ART, IUI, and FP interventions in Europe shows a continuous increase in treatment numbers, a slight decrease in multiple delivery rates, higher pregnancy rates and multiple delivery rates after frozen embryo replacement compared to fresh cycles, as well as stable outcomes for IUI cycles. Efforts should be made to optimize data collection and reporting to improve quality control and transparency in the field of reproductive medicine.
