In this work, a silver-catalyzed and regioselective alkylation of chromones with alkyl carboxylic acids under mild conditions is reported. Various alkyl groups, including tert-butyl, cyclohexyl, and adamantyl, can be successfully introduced at the C2 site of chromones with moderate to good yields. A gram-scale experiment was conducted, and a plausible mechanism was proposed.
Herein, we report a silver-catalyzed regioselective alkylation of chromones with alkyl carboxylic acids under mild conditions. Various alkyl groups including tert-butyl, cyclohexyl especially adamantyl could be successfully installed at C2 site of chromones in moderate to good yields. A gram-scale experiment was conducted and a plausible mechanism was proposed.
