Identification of Novel Mutations in Chinese Infants With Citrullinemia

Zhi Cheng et al.

Summary: In this study, genetic analysis was performed on nine Chinese infants with citrullinemia, revealing several novel and rare genetic mutations. Functional analysis showed the impact of these mutations on enzyme activity and protein interactions. These findings expand the mutational spectrum of citrullinemia and improve our understanding of its molecular genetic mechanism.

Outcome of Liver Transplantation for Neonatal-onset Citrullinemia Type I

Yuan Liu et al.

Summary: This study evaluated the outcomes of liver transplantation in neonatal-onset citrullinemia type I patients, showing that transplantation can restore metabolic function, improve developmental delay, and neurological deficits. For patients with severe hyperammonemia insults, liver transplantation should be conducted at an early age to prevent further neurological or developmental deficits.
