Ru complex and N, P-containing polymers confined within mesoporous hollow carbon spheres for hydrogenation of CO2 to formate

Guoxiang Yang et al.

Summary: In this study, a heterogeneous catalyst for carbon dioxide hydrogenation was developed, which showed both excellent activity and recyclability. The catalyst consisted of a mononuclear Ru complex, N, P-containing porous organic polymers (POPs), and mesoporous hollow carbon spheres (MHCS). The optimized catalyst exhibited high catalytic activity and durability, attributed to the high surface area and large pore volume of MHCS, as well as the dispersion and stabilization capability of POPs. Ru3+-POPs encapsulated into MHCS reduced the activation energy barrier for CO2 hydrogenation.

Self-Assembled NBR/Nomex Nanofibers as Lightweight Rubbery Nonwovens for Hindering Delamination in Epoxy CFRPs

Emanuele Maccaferri et al.

Summary: In this study, concerns about the impact of nanomodification on the thermomechanical properties of composite laminates were addressed by using rubbery nitrile butadiene rubber (NBR)/Nomex mixed nanofibers. Stable noncrosslinked nanofibers were produced via single-needle electrospinning, leading to significant improvement in the interlaminar fracture toughness of CFRPs with rubbery nanofiber modifications. The different nanofibrous morphologies demonstrated varying effects on delamination resistance, with quasi-core-shell nanofibers providing the best reinforcing action.

Simultaneous diffusion of cation and anion to access N, S co-coordinated Bi-sites for enhanced CO2 electroreduction

Zhiyuan Wang et al.

Summary: Developing highly active single-atom sites catalysts for electrochemical reduction of CO2 is crucial for promoting carbon-neutral energy cycle and mitigating global climate issues. In this study, a novel atomically dispersed N, S co-coordinated bismuth atom sites catalyst was developed via a simultaneous diffusion strategy, exhibiting high selectivity and stability. The significantly improved catalytic performance of the catalyst is attributed to the replacement of one coordinated-N with low electronegative S, reducing the energy barrier and enhancing reaction kinetics.
