The optical solitons of the generalized third-order nonlinear Schrodinger's equation were investigated using a new one-step method called the direct mapping method. Four sets of soliton solutions were constructed in one step, proving the simplicity and effectiveness of the proposed method. This study is expected to inspire new approaches to the study of partial differential equations in physics.
The optical solitons of the generalized third-order nonlinear Schrodinger's equation are investigated by Liu et al. (2022). In this letter, we propose a new one-step method namely the direct mapping method for the first time to study it. By this method, four sets of the soliton solutions are constructed in one step. The obtained results in this work fully prove the proposed method is simple but effective, which can avoid the tedious calculations, and is expected to bring some new inspiration to study of the PDEs in physics.
