Long-term functional prognosis and related factors of spinal cord stimulation in patients with disorders of consciousness

Yi Yang et al.

Summary: This study explores the efficiency of spinal cord stimulation (SCS) in treating patients with disorders of consciousness (DoC) at different consciousness levels. The results showed that SCS has a positive outcome in a significant percentage of patients, with better outcomes found in younger patients and those with a minimally conscious state (MCS). However, more evidence-based randomized controlled trials are needed to confirm the efficacy of SCS as a treatment for DoC.
