Investigating the effectiveness of Watermelon extract-zinc ions for steel alloy corrosion mitigation in sodium chloride solution

Amir Hossein Jafari Mofidabadi et al.

Summary: In this study, green-renewable watermelon extract (WME):Zn inhibitive complexes were introduced to reduce corrosion of mild steel in a sodium chloride solution. The chemistry of the complexes was investigated, and successful interactions between WME and Zn were observed. The complexes exhibited significant anti-corrosion properties and protection mechanism, leading to a 96% reduction in corrosion of mild steel in the saline solution.

Nevena Stevanovic et al.

Summary: In this study, Cu(II), Mn(II) and Zn(II) complexes with a specific ligand were synthesized and characterized. The complexes exhibited varying antimicrobial activity against bacteria, yeasts, and a fungal strain. In cytotoxicity tests, the Cu(II) and Mn(II) complexes showed significant anti-cancer activity, with the Mn(II) complex demonstrating selectivity towards tumor cells.

Ternary Copper Complex of L-Glutamine and Phenanthroline as Counterions of Cyclo-Tetravanadate Anion: Experimental-Theoretical Characterization and Potential Antineoplastic Activity

Nidia D. Corona-Motolinia et al.

Summary: Therapeutic metallodrugs have shown substantial effectiveness in cancer treatment over the past decade, leading to a significant research focus on developing new anticancer drugs. A new cyclo-tetravanadate was synthesized and characterized, with potential anticancer activities revealed through docking analysis. The complex may interact with DNA/tRNA to exhibit these activities, suggesting dual antineoplastic potential as prodrugs.

State of the Art in Crystallization-Induced Diastereomer Transformations

Andrej Kolarovic et al.

Summary: Crystallization-induced diastereomer transformations (CIDT) allow for the isolation of target compounds with high enantio- and diastereomeric purities and up to quantitative yields through filtration. This synthetic strategy has been demonstrated in numerous inspiring examples over the past fifteen years, with important considerations discussed for designing CIDT experiments.

Summary: L-Citrulline, an important amino acid released from enterocytes, plays a crucial role in monitoring intestinal integrity and diagnosing rheumatoid diseases. It may also predict poor outcomes in cancer patients. Supplementation with L-Citrulline can slightly improve muscle strength or protein balance.
