Electrically Reconfigurable Organic Logic Gates: A Promising Perspective on a Dual-Gate Antiambipolar Transistor

Ryoma Hayakawa et al.

Summary: Multiple logic gate operations are achieved using a dual-gate organic antiambipolar transistor, enabling the realization of new computation architectures. This transistor exhibits a distinct feature of precisely tuned peak voltage of the drain current, based on three input signals. The device concept shows promise in surpassing the current limitations in complementary metal-oxide-semiconductor devices.

Carrier-Transport Mechanism in Organic Antiambipolar Transistors Unveiled by Operando Photoemission Electron Microscopy

Ryoma Hayakawa et al.

Summary: An operando photoemission electron microscopy is used to investigate carrier transport in organic antiambipolar transistors (AATs). It is observed that a depletion layer forms at the lateral p-n junction when the AAT is on, and the steep potential gradient enhances electron conduction from n-type to p-type semiconductor. Majority of the electrons are considered to recombine with accumulated holes in the p-type semiconductor, resulting in a reduction of photoemission intensity.

Anti-ambipolar behavior and photovoltaic effect in p-MoTe2/n-InSe heterojunctions

Yiming Sun et al.

Summary: van der Waals (vdW) heterostructures, formed by stacking different 2D materials, provide a promising platform for diverse physical phenomena and device functions. By utilizing gate voltage to modulate carrier concentration and transport in heterojunctions like MoTe2 and InSe, novel electronic and optoelectronic devices can be achieved. The MoTe2/InSe heterojunction exhibits anti-ambipolar transfer characteristics with a large work window and high peak-to-valley current ratio, showing potential for high-performance multifunctional optoelectronics.
