Inflation and dark matter after spontaneous Planck scale generation by hidden chiral symmetry breaking

Mayumi Aoki et al.

Summary: Utilizing dynamical chiral symmetry breaking in a QCD-like hidden sector to generate the Planck mass and the electroweak scale, the study proposes hidden pions as dark matter candidates. However, due to their super heavy mass (10^9 to 10^12 GeV) and extremely suppressed interaction with the visible sector, direct detection of these hidden pions is not feasible.

DBI inflation and warped black holes

Alexander Y. Kamenshchik et al.

Summary: This study examines a possible amplification mechanism for curvature perturbations generated during inflation by a Dirac-Born-Infeld (DBI) inflaton in the presence of a sharp feature in the warp factor. The large growth in the scalar power spectrum is a result of the decreasing speed of sound. Analytical approximate expressions for relevant dynamical quantities in both the slow roll phase and the transient phase leading to amplification are obtained. Finally, a comparison is made between the approximations and the exact numerical evolution, and general rules for building a viable inflationary model that leads to abundant primordial black hole formation during the subsequent radiation dominated era are given.

Dark photon dark matter from a rolling inflaton

Mar Bastero-Gil et al.

Summary: We study a mechanism for producing dark photon dark matter at the end of inflation. The rolling inflaton induces a tachyonic instability, leading to the coherent production of dark gauge bosons. We examine the case where the dark photons are relativistic when their mass is generated and calculate the relic abundance today. Furthermore, we analyze the late time power spectrum and find that it preserves the peak generated at the end of inflation.

Natural inflation after Planck 2018

Nina K. Stein et al.

Summary: The study found that under conventional post-inflationary dynamics, Natural Inflation with a cosine potential is disfavored by current data with a confidence level of over 95%. When considering prolonged reheating, Natural Inflation can be consistent with current observational constraints, but requires values of T-re below the scale of electroweak symmetry breaking. Adding a SHOES prior on the Hubble Constant H-0 only worsens the fit.

Reheating and dark matter freeze-in in the Higgs-R2 inflation model

Shuntaro Aoki et al.

Summary: This study investigates the dynamics of reheating and freeze-in dark matter in the Higgs-R-2 inflation model. The evolution of the temperature for radiation bath produced during reheating is determined using the perturbative approach, and the maximum and reheating temperatures of the Universe are determined. The dominate mechanism for dark matter production in this model is found to be thermal scattering, due to the high reheating temperature.

Quintessential constant-roll inflation

Mehdi Shokri et al.

Summary: We investigate a single field model of constant-roll inflation, where the inflaton moves down to the minimum point of the potential with a constant rate of rolling. Using a quintessential inflationary model based on a Lorentzian function dependent on the number of e-folds, we analyze the inflation and derive observational constraints on the parameters space using CMB anisotropies data. We also study the model using the Weak Gravity Conjecture approach.

Unified model for inflation, pseudo-Goldstone dark matter, neutrino mass, and baryogenesis

Rabindra N. Mohapatra et al.

Summary: The paper presents a unified theory involving inflation, neutrino mass, baryogenesis, and dark matter. The basic idea is to use a complex scalar field as the inflaton and the field that implements AD leptogenesis. This theory provides an economical solution to several puzzles in the standard model and cosmology.

Reconstruction of quintessence field for the THDE with swampland correspondence in f(R,T) gravity

Umesh Kumar Sharma

Summary: In this study, the Tsallis holographic quintessence model of dark energy is developed in f(R,T) gravity with a Hubble horizon as the IR cut-off. The correspondence between the energy density of the quintessence model and the Tsallis holographic density allows for the reconstruction of dynamics and potentials for the quintessence field. The behavior of statefinder quantities under different IR cut-off conditions is investigated, along with the analysis of the quintessence phase of the THDE models with the swampland conjecture to describe the accelerated expansion of the Universe.

Higgs inflation and its extensions and the further refining dS swampland conjecture

Yang Liu

Summary: The study examines if the Higgs inflation model and its variations can satisfy the further refining de Sitter swampland conjecture by adjusting relevant parameters, based on observational data. The results indicate that these inflationary models might all be in landscape if the further refining de Sitter swampland conjecture holds.

Study of some cosmological parameters in logarithmic corrected f(R) gravitational model with swampland conjectures

J. Sadeghi et al.

Summary: In this paper, a corrected f(R) gravitational model with a logarithmic term was used to determine cosmological parameters and validate swampland conjectures. The model was found to be consistent with the conjectures, with parameter n having upper and lower limits of 0.15 and 0.0033, respectively. Coefficients alpha, beta, and gamma were obtained by comparing scalar spectrum index ns and tensor-to-scalar ratio r relations with Planck 2018 data, and results were supported by various figures, literature, and Planck 2018 data.

Swampland conjecture and inflation model from brane perspective

Summary: In this paper, a modified f(R) gravitational model is introduced to examine new conditions for inflation models in the expanding universe. By introducing modified cosmological parameters and applying them to the modified f(R) gravitational model, the range of each parameter is determined with respect to observable data such as Planck 2018.

Islands in de Sitter space

Vijay Balasubramanian et al.

Summary: We study black holes in 2D de Sitter JT gravity coupled to a CFT, entangled with matter in a non-gravitating universe. The entropy of the entangled matter increases indefinitely with entanglement strength, but must level off due to monogamy. The competition between field theory entanglement entropy and extremal islands in the de Sitter geometry plays a key role in stabilizing the entropy growth.

Anisotropic constant-roll inflation with noncommutative model and swampland conjectures

J. Sadeghi et al.

Summary: In this paper, we investigate a constant-roll inflationary model with a noncommutative parameter and a homogeneous scalar field minimally coupled to gravity. New consequences are proposed with specific noncommutative inflation conditions, and new anisotropic constant-roll solutions are found with respect to the noncommutative parameter. Figures are plotted based on specific parameter values and the swampland criteria obtained from the constant-roll condition, revealing the impact of the parameter on the inflationary model.

Anisotropic constant-roll inflation for the Dirac-Born-Infeld model

Duy H. Nguyen et al.

Summary: In this study, a non-canonical extension of a supergravity-motivated model is investigated, which serves as a vivid counterexample to the cosmic no-hair conjecture due to its unusual coupling between scalar and electromagnetic fields. The study reveals exact anisotropic inflationary solutions for this extension under a constant-roll condition, with numerical calculations confirming the attractiveness of these solutions during their inflationary phase.

Rescaled Einstein-Hilbert gravity from f (R) gravity: Inflation, dark energy, and the swampland criteria

V. K. Oikonomou

Summary: In this study, we analyze the scenario where the effective gravitational Lagrangian of a minimally coupled scalar field becomes a rescaled Einstein-Hilbert gravity at large curvatures, leading to changes in the inflationary phenomenology and satisfaction of swampland criteria. Two inflation models, fiber inflation and supergravity alpha-attractor models, are discussed to show their viability and satisfaction of swampland criteria. The late-time phenomenology of the fiber inflation potential in the presence of full f(R) gravity is examined, showing the production of a viable dark energy era similar to the Lambda-cold-dark-matter model. The modified gravity model presents a universe described by a rescaled Einstein-Hilbert gravity at early times, with the scalar field mainly controlling dynamics synergistically with f(R) gravity at late times.
