Stretchable array of CdSe/ZnS quantum-dot light emitting diodes for visual display of bio-signals

Yonghui Lee et al.

Summary: In this study, a stretchable QD-LED array was fabricated for displaying body movement and skin temperature signals from skin-attached sensors. The design minimized strain on the QD-LEDs by concentrating stress on the soft elastomer film substrate and Galinstan interconnections, resulting in stable operation under deformation. This work demonstrates the potential application of stretchable QD-LED arrays for easy and daily monitoring of health conditions through visual display.

Preparation and mechanism investigation of CdS quantum dots applied for copper ion rapid detection

Shen Wang et al.

Summary: A rapid test strip for copper ions was prepared based on CdS quantum dots synthesized by a green method. In addition to Cu2+, fluorescence quenching phenomenon was also found in Ag+ solution. The study showed that the rapid test strip greatly improved the efficiency of metal ion detection, and the reaction mechanism was deeply investigated.

Tuning optoelectronic response of lateral core-alloyed crown nanoplatelets: type-II CdSe-CdSe1-x Te x

Imen Ben Amara et al.

Summary: Theoretical study shows that exciton emission in the CdSe-CdSe1-x Te x core-alloyed crown heterostructure can be tuned from quasi-type II to pure type II behavior by adjusting the Te to Se ratio. Different emissions, red-shifted with increasing nanoplatelets (NPLs) monolayer (ML) thickness due to quantum confinement effect, develop due to band bowing effect from the differences in bonding nature between the Se and Te orbitals with the Cd orbitals. The alloyed crown's band bowing is sensitive to ML thickness and in-plane strain, influenced by the hybridization between cation (Cd) and anion (Se, Te), making these NPLs promising for near-infrared-emitting heterostructures used in light-harvesting applications.

Prospects and challenges of colloidal quantum dot laser diodes

Heeyoung Jung et al.

Summary: Colloidal quantum dots have the potential to provide solution-processable lasers, but face challenges in overcoming optical gain decay and poor stability of QD solids at high current densities. Recent progress has been made in developing electrically pumped optical gain devices operating at ultrahigh current densities.

Thick-Shell CdSe/ZnS/CdZnS/ZnS Core/Shell Quantum Dots for Quantitative Immunoassays

Yanbing Lv et al.

Summary: This study presents a synthesis method for ultra-thick shell quantum dots and their application in C-reactive protein detection, achieving nearly a 3-fold enhancement in detection sensitivity and a 2-fold increase in shelf life. The performance improvements in protein detection are attributed to the use of core/shell quantum dots with high particle stability, high PL QYs, and a large surface area conducive to surface antibody coupling.
