Five solutions for the fractional p-Laplacian with noncoercive energy

Silvia Frassu et al.

Summary: This study investigates a Dirichlet problem driven by the degenerate fractional p-Laplacian and involving a nonlinear reaction. The research shows that under certain conditions, there are five nontrivial solutions for the problem, including two positive solutions, two negative solutions, and one nodal solution.

Nodal solutions for anisotropic (p, q)-equations

Shengda Zeng et al.

Summary: In this paper, we consider a nonlinear Dirichlet problem driven by the anisotropic (p, q) Laplacian and a Caratheodory reaction f(z, x) locally defined in x. By using critical point theory, truncation and comparison techniques, as well as critical groups, we prove the existence of at least three nontrivial smooth solutions (positive, negative, and nodal). If a symmetry condition on f(z, .) is imposed, we can generate a whole sequence of nodal solutions converging to zero in Co (omega).

Extremal constant sign solutions and nodal solutions for the fractional p-Laplacian

Silvia Frassu et al.

Summary: This paper investigates a pseudo-differential equation driven by the degenerate fractional p Laplacian under Dirichlet type conditions in a smooth domain. The study shows the existence of solutions within a specific interval and establishes the presence of a smallest positive solution, a biggest negative solution, and a nodal solution.

Four Solutions for Fractional p-Laplacian Equations with Asymmetric Reactions

Antonio Iannizzotto et al.

Summary: Using critical point theory and Morse theory, it is proven that for sufficiently small values of the parameter, the Dirichlet type problem for a nonlinear, nonlocal equation driven by the degenerate fractional p-Laplacian admits at least four nontrivial solutions, including positive, negative, and nodal solutions. A Brezis-Oswald type comparison result is also proved as a tool.
