Serum ferritin levels in previously untreated classical Hodgkin lymphoma: correlations and prognostic significance

Stamatios Karakatsanis et al.

Summary: In patients with cHL, higher SF levels are associated with markers of advanced/aggressive disease, and are significantly elevated in male, older patients, those with high BMI and mixed cellularity histology. The strongest correlation was found between SF and CRP levels, with elevated SF levels, advanced stage, and high LDH being independent prognostic factors.

Hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis: a rare disease unveiling the diagnosis of EBV-related large B cell lymphoma in a patient with HIV

Alexandra Noveihed et al.

Summary: This case report describes a patient with HLH in the setting of several risk factors, including AIDS, B-cell lymphoma, and EBV infection. It highlights the importance of considering HLH early in the evaluation of neutropenic fever without clear infectious etiology, especially in immunocompromised patients, and the need to search for malignancy-associated causes of HLH.

Hodgkin Lymphoma in People Living with HIV

Jose-Tomas Navarro et al.

Summary: HIV-infected individuals have a higher risk of developing Hodgkin lymphoma, with the presence of Epstein-Barr virus playing a crucial role in its etiology. Treatment similar to the general population, including the use of cART and chemotherapy, is recommended for optimal prognosis. Interdisciplinary collaboration between hemato-oncologists and HIV specialists is essential for the management of potential drug interactions and overlapping toxicities.
