Discovery of Novel α-Aminophosphonates with Hydrazone as Potential Antiviral Agents Combined With Active Fragment and Molecular Docking

Jia Tian et al.

Summary: A series of novel alpha-aminophosphonate derivatives containing hydrazone were designed and synthesized based on active fragments. The title compounds showed good activities against tobacco mosaic virus, with compound 6k displaying excellent activity surpassing commercial antiviral agents like dufulin and ningnanmycin. This study suggests that new lead compounds can be discovered by employing a joint strategy with active fragments and molecular docking.

Summary: The study investigates the computational analysis of Fe(III/IV/V)-O/O-2 and Fe(IV)-mu-O/O-2-Fe(IV) species using a dispersion-corrected density functional method. By examining spin states, ground states, structure-function relationships, MO analysis, shifting of iron centers, and magnetic coupling, the research provides insight into the reactivity and bonding aspects of these iron species. The DFT studies are found to be consistent with available experimental data, showing potential for understanding the complex nature of iron complexes in catalytic reactions.

Effect of the Ligand Backbone on the Reactivity and Mechanistic Paradigm of Non-Heme Iron(IV)-Oxo during Olefin Epoxidation

Jyoti Prasad Biswas et al.

Summary: The study reveals that the steric and electronic effects of the non-heme ligand play a crucial role in influencing the mechanism of oxygen atom transfer reactions in olefin epoxidation, leading to the formation of different epoxide products with distinct stereochemistry. Additionally, the dominant inductive electronic effect and minor resonance effect are observed in the rate-limiting step, highlighting their contributions to electron transfer from olefin to the ferryl oxo complex.
