Hard yet Flexible Transparent Omniphobic GPOSS Coatings Modified with Perfluorinated Agents

Desiree N. Bender et al.

Summary: This paper reports the incorporation of fluorinated agents into a polyhedral oligomeric silsesquioxane (POSS) coating to produce hard/flexible omniphobic coatings, and investigates the influence of the type and amount of these agents on the wetting and mechanical properties of the coatings. The study provides guidelines for producing coatings with improved omniphobicity and wear resistance.

Robust Hybrid Omniphobic Surface for Stain Resistance

Zhengfeng Ma et al.

Summary: Inspired by natural living surfaces, researchers have developed a robust and transparent omniphobic coating with excellent liquid repellency and stain resistance properties using a one-step dip coating method. The coating showed excellent mechanical wear resistance and maintained its stain resistance property and wettability even after hundreds of thousands of friction cycles. This hybrid coating possesses simple preparation, excellent properties, and durability, attracting widespread interest in the engineering application field.
