Excellent Long-Range Charge-Carrier Mobility in 2D Perovskites

Manuel Kober-Czerny et al.

Summary: The charge carrier transport properties in layered perovskites, specifically 2D perovskite PEA(2)PbI(4), were investigated. The study found that layered perovskites have higher long-range and short-range mobilities, indicating that polycrystalline thin films have single-crystal-like qualities.

Whether organic spacer cations induced 2D/3D or quasi-2D/3D mixed dimensional perovskites?

Yaru Li et al.

Summary: This study investigates the effect of alternative spacer cations on the performance of perovskite solar cells (PSCs). The results show that the 2D/3D mixed dimensional perovskite incorporating 4-(aminoethyl) pyridine (4-AEP) as the spacer cation exhibits higher efficiency and stability compared to the quasi-2D/3D perovskite incorporating phenylethylamine (PEA) as the spacer cation.

Excitonic Solar Cells Using 2D Perovskite of (BA)2(FA)2Pb3I10

Shu Hu et al.

Summary: This study fabricated two-dimensional (2D) perovskite films and solar cells using mixed BA and FA cations at different concentrations and temperatures, with the addition of thiourea in the precursor solution. While the 1.0 M solution resulted in larger crystalline grain size, devices from the 0.25 M solution using the hot-cast technique showed better performance on average. Spectra analysis showed exciton absorption in devices from the 0.25 M solution, which was lacking in devices from the 1.0 M solution.

Summary: Researchers have developed a solid-phase method to grow phase-pure two-dimensional perovskites in perovskite solar cells, enhancing device efficiency and stability. By growing a stable two-dimensional film on top of a three-dimensional film using a solvent-free method, an intact 2D/3D heterojunction is formed, resulting in high photovoltage in the device.

Revealing Ultrafast Charge-Carrier Thermalization in Tin-Iodide Perovskites through Novel Pump-Push-Probe Terahertz Spectroscopy

Aleksander M. Ulatowski et al.

Summary: Tin-iodide perovskites are promising semiconductors for photovoltaic applications due to their higher intrinsic charge-carrier mobilities and lower toxicity. A novel spectroscopic technique was experimentally implemented to investigate the intraband relaxation dynamics of charge carriers in these materials, revealing a push-induced decrease in terahertz conductivity from stimulated THz emission. The study showed that newly photogenerated charge carriers relax quickly on a subpicosecond timescale in the presence of a large population of charge carriers.
