The model achieves 80.1% prediction accuracy and provides valuable insights into how firms can increase their success rate in M&A for sustainable development.

Market Misreaction? Evidence from Cross-Border Acquisitions

Summary: The goal of this paper is to investigate whether investors understand the long-term value implications of cross-border mergers and acquisitions at the time of their announcements. The study finds that the operating efficiency of acquirers decreases around and after the acquisitions. However, the announcement-period stock-market reaction does not significantly reflect the acquirers' operating efficiency post-acquisition.
