Modeling the heterogeneous traffic flow considering the effect of self-stabilizing and autonomous vehicles

Summary: This paper proposes a car-following model for autonomous vehicles and heterogeneous traffic flow, considering the self-stabilizing effect. The model's stability is analyzed through linear and nonlinear methods, and numerical simulation is used to verify the results. The study finds that the self-stabilizing effect can enhance the stability of heterogeneous traffic flow and alleviate traffic congestion. Moreover, increasing the self-stabilizing coefficient and historical time length improves the stability of the traffic flow.

Effect of tannic acid modified bamboo fiber on the performance of soybean bio-asphalt/styrene-butadiene-styrene modified asphalt

Summary: A method for fabricating liquid manipulating surfaces with patternable and controllable wettability on Polyimide film using femtosecond laser thermal accumulation engineering is proposed. The wettability of the film can be controlled from superhydrophilicity to superhydrophobicity through adjusting the local thermal accumulation. Three different surfaces with patternable and heterogeneous wettability were constructed and various applications were achieved.

Facile fabrication of hierarchical textures for substrate-independent and durable superhydrophobic surfaces

Summary: In this study, a simple method to achieve superhydrophobicity on various substrate surfaces is proposed. By using femtosecond laser direct processing, grooves and protrusions are constructed on substrates to form a protective layer, followed by scanning with polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) to achieve superhydrophobicity. This method can achieve robust superhydrophobic surfaces with excellent anti-friction performance on different substrates.

Evaluating the impact of fiber type and dosage rate on laboratory performance of Fiber-Reinforced asphalt mixtures

Summary: This study evaluated the impact of fiber types, binder content, and dosage rates on the volumetric properties and laboratory performance of asphalt mixtures. Results showed that a fiber dosage rate of 0.15% had minimal impact on optimum binder content, while a dosage rate of 0.30% required additional binder content. Carbon fiber at the 0.30% dosage rate improved cracking performance without the need for extra binder.

The pseudo-second-order model was observed to better describe the kinetic behavior of the adsorption process.
