Single-shot compressed optical field topography

Summary: By combining the coded aperture snapshot spectral imaging (CASSI) technique with a global 3D phase retrieval procedure, we have demonstrated the ability to draw a 3D map of an ultrafast optical field using compressed optical field topography (COFT). This technique can fully characterize the femtosecond laser pulse and observe the real-time propagation of light.

Single-pulse, reference-free, spatiospectral measurement of ultrashort pulse-beams

Summary: This paper presents a reference-free, full-field, single-shot spatiospectral measurement technique called broadband single-shot ptychography (BBSSP). BBSSP provides the complex wavefront for each spectral and polarization component in an ultrafast pulse-beam and should be applicable across the electromagnetic spectrum. BBSSP will dramatically improve the application and mitigation of spatiospectral pulse-beam structure.

Summary: This study demonstrates a single-shot, complete spatiotemporal measurement of pulses from a terawatt-scale, low repetition-rate laser source. The research characterizes major spatiotemporal distortions affecting peak intensity and pulse-shape instability while providing four-dimensional animations of pulse propagation.
