2D Ti3C2TxMXene couples electrical stimulation to promote proliferation and neural differentiation of neural stem cells

Rongrong Guo et al.

Summary: Ti3C2Tx MXene nanosheets have shown the potential to regulate the fate of neural stem cells (NSCs) by promoting their proliferation and neural differentiation. NSCs cultured on Ti(3)C(2)T(x)MXene films exhibit enhanced electrical activity and more mature neurons with longer neurites and increased branching. Electrical stimulation applied through the Ti(3)C(2)T(x)MXene film further enhances NSC proliferation. This study expands the potential applications of MXene materials and provides new strategies for stem cell research.

Unusual synthesis of safflower-shaped TiO2/Ti3C2 heterostructures initiated from two-dimensional Ti3C2 MXene

Nghe My Tran et al.

Summary: A unique microscale safflower synthesis consisting of TiO2/Ti3C2 heterostructure nanorods was developed through sequential in-body transformation. The morphology, structural components, and properties of the heterostructures were significantly influenced by heat treatment conditions, and the synthesized heterostructures exhibited semiconductor behavior with superb photocatalytic efficiency.

rGO/Ti3C2Tx heterostructures for the efficient, room-temperature detection of multiple toxic gases

Nghe My Tran et al.

Summary: The novel rGO/Ti3C2Tx heterostructures were prepared via a simple ultrasonication method, showing sharp interface and increased surface area. These heterostructures exhibited excellent gas-sensing performance to NO2 and other toxic gases at room temperature, outperforming MoS2/Ti3C2Tx and g-C3N4/Ti3C2Tx heterostructures synthesized for comparison. Results indicate the potential for an efficient, multigas-detecting, and room-temperature-operable gas sensor.
