Massive double copy in the high-energy limit

Mariana Carrillo Gonzalez et al.

Summary: In this paper, the authors analyze the double copy for topologically massive theories beyond tree-level amplitudes and find that the massive double copy requires information outside the eikonal limit. However, a simple double copy relation arises for the phase shift, and a classical double copy relation is found for the corresponding shockwave backgrounds.

Generalizations of the double-copy: the KLT bootstrap

Huan-Hang Chi et al.

Summary: This article introduces a new approach to generalize the double-copy of tree amplitudes. By introducing a new kernel and perturbatively solving the bootstrap equations, it provides a general description of higher-derivative corrections in field theory. This is important for understanding the generality of the double-copy and searching for new kernels.

Double copy for massive scalar field theories

Mariana Carrillo Gonzalez et al.

Summary: We explore the application of the double copy to massive theories and discover a new cubic theory with a local double copy. By reducing the nonlinear Sigma model and the special Galileon theory from five dimensions to four, we establish a double copy relation between the resulting massive scalar field theories. We also find a new cubic interaction that satisfies the BCJ relations up to 5-point amplitudes.

Scattering amplitudes and BCFW in N = 2* theory

Md Abhishek et al.

Summary: This study uses the massive spinor helicity formalism to investigate the scattering amplitudes in N = 2 super-Yang-Mills theory in four dimensions. The amplitudes at an arbitrary point in the Coulomb branch of the theory are computed. The amplitudes are computed using projection from N = 4 theory and three-point amplitudes are written in a convenient form using special kinematics. Four-point amplitudes are then computed by carrying out a massive BCFW shift of the amplitudes. It is found that some of the shifted amplitudes have a pole at z = infinity. Taking the residue at z = infinity into account ensures little group covariance of the final result.

Constraints on a massive double-copy and applications to massive gravity

Laura A. Johnson et al.

Summary: The study proposes and examines a BCJ double-copy involving massive particles, demonstrating equivalence with a KLT formula. The analysis reveals the presence of double-copy factors on physical poles for models with a uniform non-zero mass spectrum, with color-kinematics duality satisfying numerators up to at least 5-particle scattering. However, for scattering involving 5 or more particles, the procedure introduces spurious singularities that require additional constraints for cancellation.

Scattering amplitudes for all masses and spins

Nima Arkani-Hamed et al.

Summary: This paper introduces a formalism for describing four-dimensional scattering amplitudes for particles of any mass and spin, extending the familiar spinor-helicity formalism for massless particles. By systematically characterising possible three-particle amplitudes compatible with Poincare symmetry and using unitarity to construct four-particle tree amplitudes, a basis is established for expanding all possible four-particle amplitudes. The analysis of four-particle scattering leads to various general results in quantum field theory, such as the set of consistent theories for massless particles and the understanding of why massive particles of high spin cannot be elementary.

Kaluza-Klein from colour-kinematics duality for massive fields

Arshia Momeni et al.

Summary: The study examines a broad class of massive four-dimensional effective theories involving an infinite tower of charged massive spin 1 states interacting with massless spin 1 and spin 0. By demanding the preservation of color-kinematics duality in scattering amplitudes, the 4D Lagrangian is uniquely fixed to the Kaluza-Klein compactification of 5D Yang-Mills theory.

Massive double copy in three spacetime dimensions

Mariana Carrillo Gonzalez et al.

Summary: Recent research on constructing a double copy of massive gauge fields has shown that the generic double copy is unphysical, but a new direction has been explored in three-dimensional spacetimes to obtain a sensible double copy of massive gauge fields. By requiring scattering amplitudes to satisfy a specific BCJ relation to avoid spurious poles at 5-points, it has been demonstrated that the amplitudes of Topologically Massive Yang-Mills satisfy this relation and that their double copy is Topologically Massive Gravity at three, four, and five-points.

New positivity bounds from full crossing symmetry

Andrew J. Tolley et al.

Summary: Positivity bounds derived from partial wave expansion and full crossing symmetry can constrain effective field theories by putting upper and lower bounds on Wilson coefficients. These bounds are more constraining than linear positivity for scalars and can be used to exclude theories with soft amplitude behavior.
