Transport mechanisms of plant hormones

Moran Anfang et al.

Summary: Plant growth, development, and response to the environment are regulated by hormones, with plants having the ability to control hormone distribution spatially. These hormones are transported by various transporters, leading to a better understanding of hormone substrate specificity and genetic redundancy in hormone transport. Plants also exhibit subcellular, cell-to-cell, and long-distance hormone movement, as well as local hormone sinks that influence hormone-mediated responses.

Identification and characterization of the NPF, NRT2 and NRT3 in spinach

Xiaoli Wang et al.

Summary: Nitrate transporters play crucial roles in nitrate uptake, transport, and allocation in plants. This study identified and characterized SoNRT gene family in spinach, showing their diverse responses to nitrate supplies. Overexpressing SoNPF30 and SoNRT3 in Arabidopsis plants demonstrated their potential roles in improving nitrate translocation or uptake, enhancing plant nitrogen utilization under different conditions. This research lays a foundation for further exploration of this gene family in spinach.

Genome-wide identification, structural and gene expression analysis of the nitrate transporters (NRTs) family in potato (Solanum tuberosum L.)

Jingying Zhang et al.

Summary: This study identified and analyzed the StNRT gene family in potato, finding a total of 39 members including 33 NRT1, 4 NRT2, and 2 NRT3. These genes are randomly distributed across all chromosomes in potato and exhibit tissue-specific roles under different nitrogen conditions.

Genetic Effects and Expression Patterns of the Nitrate Transporter (NRT) Gene Family in Populus tomentosa

Lei Zhao et al.

Summary: In this study, the researchers identified and characterized 98 members of the PtoNRT gene family in poplar, revealing distinct expression patterns of the genes in different tissues. By combining candidate gene family association study, WGCNA, and eQTL mapping, the study provided insights into the potential regulatory mechanisms of NRT genes in controlling leaf nitrogen content in poplar.

MtNPF6.5 mediates chloride uptake and nitrate preference in Medicago roots

Qiying Xiao et al.

Summary: Plants prefer nitrate over chloride to maintain ion homeostasis through regulation of transporters, as demonstrated by the selective transport characteristics of MtNPF6.5 and MtNPF6.7. MtNPF6.5 plays a primary role in root chloride uptake, while MtNPF6.7 is crucial for nitrate preference.
