The phytotoxin COR induces transcriptional reprogramming of photosynthetic, hormonal and defence networks in tomato

Z. C. Zhang et al.

Summary: Coronatine (COR) is a non-host specific phytotoxin secreted by Pseudomonas syringae pv. tomato that can induce leaf chlorosis and increase pathogen virulence. Transcriptome sequencing identified 6144 differentially expressed genes in tomato leaves treated with COR, with significant changes in pathways related to photosynthesis, chlorophyll biosynthesis, jasmonic acid synthesis, and secondary metabolites regulation.
