Summary: Amestolkins A and B, two previously undescribed phthalides, were isolated from Talaromyces amestolkiae. They exhibited anti-neuroinflammatory activity by inhibiting the gene expressions of proinflammatory factors and attenuating the excretion of inducible nitric oxide synthase in BV-2 microglial cells.

Summary: New compounds were isolated from a marine-derived Talaromyces sp. ZZ1616 culture, including talaromydien A and talaroisocoumarin A, along with nine known compounds. Talaroisocoumarin A showed antimicrobial activities against methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli, and Candida albicans.

Talaromarins A-F: Six New Isocoumarins from Mangrove-Derived Fungus Talaromyces flavus TGGP35

Their structures were identified and their biological activities, including antioxidant and alpha-glucosidase inhibitory activities, were tested. Some compounds showed promising antioxidant and alpha-glucosidase inhibitory activities, highlighting their potential as antioxidants and diabetes control agents.

Five undescribed steroids from Talaromyces stipitatus and their cytotoxic activities against hepatoma cell lines

Summary: Five undescribed sterol derivatives were isolated from Talaromyces stipitatus, along with eight known congeners, marking the first example of this class of ergosterols from T. stipitatus. The compounds were tested for their effects on hepatoma cell lines, with two of them further evaluated for their impacts on cell cycle progression and apoptosis due to their pronounced cytotoxicity. The antiproliferative activities were mainly mediated by inducing cell apoptosis, according to the research results.
