Function-based dementia severity assessment for vascular cognitive impairment

Chao-Hsien Hung et al.

Summary: This study aimed to use a novel ADL questionnaire to diagnose unimpaired ADL in VCIND patients. The results showed that HAI-ADL had higher correlations with other tools, and the long-term follow-up analysis confirmed its predictive value for dementia progression.

Aggregated Tau Measured by Visual Interpretation of Flortaucipir Positron Emission Tomography and the Associated Risk of Clinical Progression of Mild Cognitive Impairment and Alzheimer Disease Results From 2 Phase III Clinical Trials

Ming Lu et al.

Summary: This study aimed to evaluate the association between the visual interpretation of Flortaucipir PET scans and patients' near-term clinical progression. The results suggest that Flortaucipir PET scans interpreted with an approved visual method may provide valuable information regarding the risk of clinical deterioration among patients with AD and MCI over 18 months.

Operational Determination of Subjective Cognitive Decline, Mild Cognitive Impairment, and Dementia Using Sum of Boxes of the Clinical Dementia Rating Scale

Yu-Wan Yang et al.

Summary: The study operationalized the staging of cognitive impairment due to AD and non-AD using CDR-SB and an SCD questionnaire. Results showed that CDR-SB effectively discriminated between NC and SCD, SCD and MCI, and MCI and dementia. Importantly, CDR-SB was less influenced by age and education compared to other cognitive assessment tools.
