Job Kuteesa et al.

Summary: The study found that Obstetrics and Gynecology, Surgery, Pediatrics, and Internal Medicine were the preferred specialties among medical students, with female students less likely to choose surgical disciplines. Factors such as a controlled lifestyle, better financial remuneration, and inspirational specialists were identified as facilitators for specialty preference, while barriers included bad experiences during clinical rotations, lack of career guidance, and negative perceptions of specialists.
