Green synthesis of silver nanoparticles using Hibiscus sabdariffa leaf extract and its cytotoxicity assay

Md Rokonujaman Khan et al.

Summary: In this study, silver nanoparticles were synthesized using a green method from Hibiscus sabdariffa and their cytotoxicity was evaluated. The results showed that proteins and amino acids in the leaf extract played a crucial role in reducing Ag+ and forming stable biomolecules encapsulated AgNPs. Cell viability study demonstrated that HSAgNPs had no cytotoxicity towards PC12 cells at a certain concentration, suggesting the safe usage of these green nanoparticles.

Influence of nano-priming on seed germination and plant growth of forage and medicinal plants

Masoomeh Abbasi Khalaki et al.

Summary: Seed priming, especially nano-priming, is an effective tool for promoting plant growth, with variations in the uptake of nanoparticles among different plant species. Nano-priming enhances seed germination, seedling growth, and development in most medicinal and forage plants, while also improving their environmental stress resistance. However, negative effects on seed germination, seedling, and plant growth traits have also been observed, highlighting the need for further research in this area.
