Critical shear stress of red blood cells as a novel integrated biomarker for screening chronic kidney diseases in cases of type 2 diabetes

Summary: This study investigated the diagnostic potential of a hemorheological parameter, critical shear stress (CSS), for diabetic kidney disease (DKD), and found that CSS can be used as an additive diagnostic index for DKD. In combination with albumin-to-creatinine ratio (ACR) and glomerular filtration rate (GFR), CSS can identify DKD more accurately.
