Modeling of an Ultrasound System in Targeted Drug Delivery to Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm: A Patient-Specific in Silico Study Based on Ligand-Receptor Binding

Amir Shamloo et al.

Summary: This study evaluates the use of ultrasound waves to control drug particles and enhance drug delivery efficiency. The results show that increasing ultrasound pressure significantly improves drug particle adhesion to the target wall, but it also has a negative impact on adhesion to the critical wall of the abdominal aorta.

Drug delivery performance of nanocarriers based on adhesion and interaction for abdominal aortic aneurysm treatment

Sina Ebrahimi et al.

Summary: This study evaluates the surface density of nanocarriers adhered to the inner wall of AAA through ligand-receptor binding. Different types and diameters of nanocarriers were used to investigate their effects on drug delivery. Results showed that liposome nanoparticles had higher interaction and adhesion values compared to solid particles, and increasing the diameter of nanocarriers leads to higher adhesion values but lower interaction with the inner wall of AAA. By increasing the number of nanocarriers injected into the artery, drug delivery was improved.

Investigation of shear forces in twisted carbon nanotube bundles using a structural mechanics approach

Davoud Asadollahi et al.

Summary: This study investigated the mesoscale mechanics of twisted carbon nanotube bundles using structural mechanics method by extracting the carbon nanotube structure and atom coordinates to create models, and determining shear forces and deformation mechanisms to find an optimal twisting angle. The simulation results from ABAQUS/CAE finite element solver code were verified by previously published molecular dynamics models.

Drug delivery and adhesion of maanetic nanoparticles coated nanoliposomes and microbubbles to atherosclerotic plagues under magnetic and ultrasound fields

Mojgan Alishiri et al.

Summary: The study explores the use of external fields like magnet and ultrasound to enhance targeted drug delivery by nano-microcarriers. Results show that utilizing a magnetic field and ultrasound field simultaneously can significantly increase the delivery of nanoliposomes and microbubbles to atherosclerosis plaque, providing insights for improving drug delivery efficiency.
