Synthesis and structure design of novel unsaturated copolyesters based on indazole moiety in the main chain with good thermal stability for catalytic activity and anti-corrosion applications

Hany M. Abd El-Lateef et al.

Summary: Novel unsaturated polyesters based on indazole moiety in the main chain were synthesized by interfacial poly-condensation. The copolyesters were characterized and analyzed by different techniques, including FTIR, 1H-NMR, XRD, TGA, and SEM. The synthesized copolyesters exhibited good thermal stability and morphology. They were also utilized as catalysts in the preparation of polysubstituted imidazoles and showed remarkable inhibition properties against mild steel corrosion in hydrochloric acid.

Steel protection in acidified 3.5% NaCl by novel hybrid composite of CoCrO3/polyaniline: Chemical fabrication, physicochemical properties, and corrosion inhibition performance

Ahmed O. Alnajjar et al.

Summary: In this study, a Perovskite-type oxide (CoCrO3) was used as the core content to synthesize an oxide/PANI nano composite, successfully creating a composite material with oxide and PANI. The CoCrO3/PANI composite exhibited high protection capacity of around 98.8% in acidic chloride-containing solutions and acted as a mixed-type inhibitor inhibiting both anodic and cathodic reactions.

Towards improving the optoelectronics properties of MAPbI3(1-x)B3x/ZnO heterojunction by bromine doping

Khawla Fradi et al.

Summary: In this study, MAPbI(3(1-x))B(3x) thin films with different percentages were successfully prepared and the optoelectronic properties and stability were improved by doping bromide ions. The appropriate bromine content led to a uniform perovskite film with larger grain size, a band gap between 1.55 and 2.1 eV, and a photoluminescent emission spectrum ranging from 538 nm to 780 nm.

Effect of deposition cycles on the properties of ZnO thin films deposited by spin coating method for CZTS-based solar cells

Amal Bouich et al.

Summary: In this study, ZnO thin films with different thicknesses were prepared using the spin-coating technique. The polycrystalline nature of the films was characterized by XRD analysis. By varying the number of spin coatings, ZnO films with dense and smooth surfaces, good crystallinity, and increasing band gap were obtained. Annealing also played a role in the band gap variation. Simulation using SCAPS-1D software was used to evaluate the effect of film cycles on solar cell performance.

Porous multicomponent chitosan/poly(ε-caprolactone)-block poly (ethylene glycol)/SiO2 aerogel@polydopamine membrane for Congo red adsorption

J. Chen et al.

Summary: The composite adsorbent CS/PCL-b-PEG/SA@PDA showed a maximum adsorption capacity of 598.8 mg/g for Congo red dye and demonstrated good reusability. The adsorption mechanism involved strong electrostatic attraction between the -NH2 and -OH groups in the adsorbent and the -SO3- groups in the dye.

Synthesis and anticorrosive properties of epoxy polymer for CS in [1 M] HCl solution: Electrochemical, AFM, DFT and MD simulations

Rachid Hsissou et al.

Summary: A novel EPT epoxy polymer was developed and investigated for its anticorrosive performance on carbon steel in [1 M] HCl medium. Experimental results showed high inhibitory efficiencies of EPT through chemical adsorption to resist acid attack, demonstrating its potential as an inhibitor for carbon steel. Computational approaches further supported these findings, indicating spontaneous adsorption and affirming the effectiveness of EPT.

Verification of corrosion inhibition of Mild steel by some 4-Aminoantipyrine-based Schiff bases - Impact of adsorbate substituent and cross-conjugation

Ankita Upadhyay et al.

Summary: The corrosion inhibition of mild steel by a series of 4-aminoantipyrine-based Schiff base compounds was studied in 1 N HCl aqueous medium using electrochemical methods. The inhibitors exhibited mixed cathodic/anodic nature and were found to form protective layers on the steel surface. Substituents on the Schiff bases, such as -OCH3, -OH, and -NMe2, showed better inhibition tendencies. The role of cross conjugation in electron donating and accepting properties in corrosion inhibition was observed, and thermodynamic modeling suggested physical and chemical interactions between the molecules and the metal surface.
