Preparation and characterization of porous NiTi alloys synthesized by microwave sintering using Mg space holder

Summary: The study found that as the sintering temperature increases, the porosities of porous NiTi alloys gradually decrease while the compressive strength first increases and then decreases; an increase in Mg content leads to higher porosities and lower compressive strength of porous NiTi alloys; porous NiTi alloys prepared with Mg space holder exhibit superior properties compared to those prepared with NH4HCO3 space holder, showing improved compressive strength, superelasticity, shape memory effect, and damping capacity.
