A comprehensive framework for sustainable closed-loop supply chain network design

Madjid Tavana et al.

Summary: This study proposes an integrated multi-objective mixed-integer linear programming model for designing a sustainable closed-loop supply chain network. The model considers cross-docking, location-inventory-routing, time window, supplier selection, order allocation, transportation modes with simultaneous pickup and delivery, and uncertainty. An intelligent simulation algorithm is used to generate CLSC network data, and a fuzzy goal programming approach is employed to solve the model under uncertainty. The results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed model.

Xuelan Zhang et al.

Summary: In this paper, novel laser-induced thermal therapy (LITT) schemes, multiple and single rotating laser irradiation, were developed for deep-lying breast tumor. Utilizing numerical simulation and multi-objective genetic algorithm (MOGA), optimization was performed on the incident angle, radius, intensity, exposure time, rotational period, and exposure time of the laser irradiation. The study demonstrated that the selected ideal solution effectively controlled surface temperature and minimized damage to normal tissue.

A stochastic programming model with endogenous uncertainty for selecting supplier development programs to proactively mitigate supplier risk

Rui Zhou et al.

Summary: This paper investigates the selection of optimal supplier development programs to improve supplier performance and proactively reduce supplier risks for a manufacturer with a limited budget. The study finds that increasing the budget leads to higher profit growth, while increasing the number of available SDPs at lower budget levels results in more profit growth. The research also highlights the importance of considering uncertainty in supplier performance and multiple supplier risks for the firm.

Evaluation and Spatial-Temporal Difference Analysis of Urban Water Resource Utilization Efficiency Based on Two-Stage DEA Model

Qiwei Xie et al.

Summary: The study reveals significant spatial-temporal differences in urban water resource utilization efficiency in Chinese cities. While most cities have poor efficiency and require increased investment for improvement, some cities show high efficiency not solely dependent on economic development. The efficiency of a city's water resource utilization can be enhanced with economic development in neighboring cities, as indicated by the spatial econometric analysis.

Comprehensive Evaluation of Non-waste Cities Based on Two-Tuple Mixed Correlation Degree

Congjun Rao et al.

Summary: This paper investigates the evaluation index system and decision-making method for non-waste cities, using 39 cities in the Yangtze River Economic Zone as a case study. By converting multi-source heterogeneous data into two-tuples and proposing a new two-tuple entropy weight method, a multi-source, heterogeneous, and multi-attribute decision-making method based on mixed correlation degrees is established. The method combines traditional grey relational analysis with TOPSIS to evaluate non-waste cities and provides decision references for selecting demonstration cities in the Yangtze River Economic Zone.
