Does simulation improve clinical performance in management of postpartum hemorrhage?

Summary: This study implemented a multidisciplinary simulation program to improve clinical response to postpartum hemorrhage. The results showed significantly faster response times, decreased variance in response time, and lower estimated blood loss following the implementation of the simulation program.

Risk Factors for Atonic Postpartum Hemorrhage A Systematic Review and Meta-analysis

Summary: This study aimed to identify and quantify risk factors for atonic postpartum hemorrhage through a systematic review of English language studies. Out of 47 potential risk factors identified, 15 were classified as definite or likely risk factors, while the remaining 32 showed no association or had conflicting evidence with atonic postpartum hemorrhage. Many established risk factors were confirmed, with additional novel factors such as hypertension, diabetes, and ethnicity identified.

Perceptions of Ecuadorian indigenous healers on their relationship with the formal health care system: barriers and opportunities

Summary: This study explores the perspectives of traditional healers from the Shuar, Kichwa, and Mestizo ethnic groups in Southern Ecuador towards the formal health system. The findings highlight barriers to respectful collaboration between health professionals and traditional healers, including power inequalities, differences in health beliefs, and historical misunderstandings. Recognizing and addressing these barriers could lead to improved collaboration and patient outcomes.
