Prenatal exposure to air pollution and the risk of macrosomia: Identifying windows of susceptibility

Li Shang et al.

Summary: This study examines the impact of prenatal exposure to air pollution on the risk of macrosomia and identifies the susceptible windows. The results suggest that PM2.5 and NO2 exposure during late pregnancy significantly increase the risk of macrosomia, while O-3 exposure during early and middle pregnancy is associated with elevated risk. Weekly exposure to PM10, however, does not show any significant association with macrosomia risk.

Effective Macrosomia Prediction Using Random Forest Algorithm

Fangyi Wang et al.

Summary: By collecting prenatal examination and delivery data, a random forest model and a logistic regression model were used to accurately predict the birth of macrosomia. The new predictive models improve the sensitivity and specificity of macrosomia prediction.

Prediction model comparison for gestational diabetes mellitus with macrosomia based on risk factor investigation

Xinyi Kang et al.

Summary: Based on risk factors analysis, a prediction model for GDM with macrosomia was established, with TG, HDL-c, and ketone body identified as risk factors. Different prediction models showed variations in accuracy, TP rate, ROC curve, etc.

Association of high maternal triglyceride levels early and late in pregnancy with adverse outcomes: A retrospective cohort study

Rui-hong Xue et al.

Summary: Elevated maternal triglyceride levels in early pregnancy are associated with increased risks of preterm delivery, gestational diabetes mellitus, preeclampsia, and large-for-gestational-age infants. Persistently high maternal triglyceride levels throughout pregnancy increase the risks of preeclampsia, gestational diabetes mellitus, and large-for-gestational-age infants compared to consistently low levels. However, persistently high levels only slightly increase the risk of large-for-gestational-age infants compared to high levels in the first trimester alone.

Use of ultrasound fetal shoulder soft tissue thickness measurement in estimation of fetal weight

Mehriban Aliyeva et al.

Summary: This study aimed to evaluate the effects of femur, humerus, and clavicular soft tissue thickness on birth weight estimation. The findings suggest that adding soft tissue thickness measurements to fetal biometry improves the accuracy of estimating fetal weight. The best fit formula developed in this study showed a significant correlation with birth weight.

Establishment of a nomogram model to predict macrosomia in pregnant women with gestational diabetes mellitus

Yujiao Zou et al.

Summary: By retrospectively studying the medical records of 783 pregnant women with gestational diabetes, a nomogram model was established to predict the risk of macrosomia. Independent risk factors for predicting macrosomia were identified, and the model showed good discrimination and calibration abilities with area under the ROC curve of 0.813 and 0.903 for internal and external validation, respectively.
