Cu-Electrocatalytic Diazidation of Alkenes at ppm Catalyst Loading

Chen-Yan Cai et al.

Summary: A scalable Cu-electrocatalytic alkene diazidation reaction with 0.02 mol % of copper(II) acetylacetonate as a precatalyst without exogenous ligands has been reported. This electrocatalytic method is characterized by low catalyst loading, scalability, compatibility with a wide range of functional groups, and applicability to various types of alkene diazidation.

Isolation and X-ray Crystal Structure of an Electrogenerated TEMPO-N3 Charge-Transfer Complex

Hosea M. Nelson et al.

Summary: Advances in radical-based catalytic reactions have led to a demand for understanding their mechanistic underpinnings. This study successfully isolated, structurally elucidated, and theoretically analyzed a catalytically relevant charge-transfer species formed between the azidyl radical and TEMPO. The X-ray structure of this complex confirms computational predictions and mechanistic proposals for TEMPO-mediated radical azidation reactions.

Mangana(iii/iv)electro-catalyzed C(sp3)-H azidation

Tjark H. Meyer et al.

Summary: The electro-catalyzed azidation of inert C(sp(3))-H bonds used sodium azide as the nitrogen source, with mild reaction conditions and no directing group. The mechanism involved aliphatic radical formation and azidyl radical transfer within a manganese(iii/iv) manifold.
