This study presents an analytical modeling of the behavior of graphene/PMMA nanocomposites under hygrothermomechanical loading. The results demonstrate that the stresses in the structure vary under different loading conditions, and the possibility of interface delamination is investigated.
In the present paper, the analytical modeling of graphene/polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA) nanocomposite under hygrothermomechanical loading is performed. The 2D analytical method consists of the use of the stress-function variational method, which was validated with experimental data in our previous paper. Studying the hygrothermomechanical behavior of graphene/PMMA nanocomposites with possible interface delamination along the overlap zone of the structure considered, the parametric analysis is done as well. Three cases of loading - mechanical, thermal (heating/cooling), and mixed (hygrothermomechanical) are considered and compared with mechanical one. All results for the behavior of the axial, peel and shear stresses for all three layers of the structure are illustrated in figures and discussed. Some important conclusions are derived.
