Encoding histopathology whole slide images with location-aware graphs for diagnostically relevant regions retrieval

Yushan Zheng et al.

Summary: Content-based histopathological image retrieval (CBHIR) systems have become popular for providing auxiliary diagnosis information for pathologists by searching and returning regions similar to the region of interest (ROI) in a database of histopathological whole slide images (WSIs). In this paper, a novel framework based on location-aware graphs and deep hash techniques was proposed for region retrieval from the WSI database, preserving structural and global location information of ROIs. The experimental results demonstrated superior performance in irregular region retrieval tasks, with high average precision and efficient retrieval time.

EOCSA: Predicting prognosis of Epithelial ovarian cancer with whole slide histopathological images

Tianling Liu et al.

Summary: Ovarian cancer is a serious disease that poses a threat to women's health worldwide, especially epithelial ovarian cancer (EOC). This study proposes a deep framework, named EOCSA, which utilizes pathological whole slide images (WSIs) to accurately predict the prognosis of EOC patients. The framework effectively extracts features and applies survival analysis models to estimate survival time. The experimental results demonstrate state-of-the-art performance.

Plasma Hsp90 levels in patients with systemic sclerosis and relation to lung and skin involvement: a cross-sectional and longitudinal study

Hana Storkanova et al.

Summary: According to the study, plasma levels of Hsp90 are increased in patients with systemic sclerosis compared to healthy controls, and are associated with increased inflammatory activity, worsened lung function, and extent of skin involvement in patients with diffuse cutaneous systemic sclerosis. In patients with systemic sclerosis-associated interstitial lung disease treated with cyclophosphamide, baseline Hsp90 levels can predict changes in DLCO over 12 months of therapy.
