Bacillusvelezensis Strains for Protecting Cucumber Plants from Root-Knot Nematode Meloidogyne incognita in a Greenhouse

Anzhela M. Asaturova et al.

Summary: In this study, two Bacillus strains were evaluated as promising agents for protecting cucumber plants from root-knot nematodes. The nematicidal activity of these strains was demonstrated, and their application was found to improve plant health and productivity.

The Use of Essential Oil and Hydrosol Extracted from Cuminum cyminum Seeds for the Control of Meloidogyne incognita and Meloidogyne javanica

Iro Pardavella et al.

Summary: The essential oil and hydrosol isolated from cumin seeds showed significant nematicidal effects on Meloidogyne incognita and M. javanica, reducing the activity of juveniles and inhibiting egg differentiation. Higher concentrations of extracts led to more effective results in paralyzing juveniles and decreasing egg differentiation.

Effects of four terpenes on the mortality of Ditylenchus dipsaci (Kuhn) Filipjev

Elli Stavropoulou et al.

Summary: Laboratory experiments showed that carvacrol exhibited the highest nematicidal activity against Ditylenchus dipsaci, followed by thymol in soil experiments. There was no synergistic effect when all four terpenes were used in mixture. Increasing the dose of terpenes increased paralysis rates of the nematode, indicating a positive correlation between concentration and exposure time in the study.
